The Beach In Winter Is Just So Pretty (Video)

My family spent New Year with my cousin in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. On New Years Day we took part in the annual Polar Bear Plunge; ironic to anyone who lives in Canada as the temperature was touching 80 degrees.

Contrast this with the beaches here in Canada during winter.

Free Films This Friday January 27th At Gone Hollywood Video

Both Wasaga Beach locations of Gone Hollywood Video are supporting the Wasaga Beach Under 16 Select Soccer Team’s trip to Italy.

All movies rented on Friday will be free with a donation to the Wasaga Canadians!!!

I have to admire the energy and ingenuity the girls ( and parents no doubt ) are showing to raise funds. Travel is the best education there is. Throw a few games of Football in, sorry “soccer” :) and what more can you want.

Nice to see such support from local business. All the more reason to “Shop Local.”

Visit Santa’s Castle At Stonebridge Town Centre Wasaga Beach

I was at a cheese and wine at My Computer People in Wasaga Beach last night. Mark Crowe the driving force behind the Stonebridge Town Centre development was speaking about the history of the project and where it goes from here.

An incredible amount of thought and work has taken place to create this town centre in a community that is very linear.

Apart from the obvious residential and commercial aspects Stonebridge continually sponsors events for residents and visitors alike to enjoy. Read the rest of this entry »

“Shop Local” In Wasaga Beach This Christmas & Make The Thought Count

Christmas 2011- Birth Of A New Tradition

This is not my idea. Xan of FaceART Originals put forward this great concept on Facebook.

You may well have met her at one of the many community events during the year. My daughter and friends spent a fun afternoon last Christmas having their faces painted.

Recently under tragic circumstances the people of Wasaga Beach has more than once proved they have a big heart. Benefits have been supported and huge donations made. Looking at Xan’s idea we can use this heart in an easy and enjoyable way to continually support our town and neighbours.

Please repost and send this to everyone you know!! Read the rest of this entry »
