Day 24: The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority Is Celebrating 50 years

Day 24 of 365

Join the NVCA in celebrating 50 years of conservation with a community celebration and tree planting on Saturday, May 1st.

Festivities take place along the Black Ash Creek Floodway in Collingwood, one of the biggest projects to date. Learn how the NVCA protects the watershed, plant a tree seedling and take a guided hike along the Collingwood Trails Network.

Saturday, May 1st, 2010 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Black Ash Creek in Collingwood (55 Mountain Road, behind Blue Mountain Mall)

11 a.m. Opening remarks from the NVCA, Town of Collingwood, Ministry of the Environment, MP Bruce Stanton and Conservation Ontario

11:35 a.m. Ceremonial tree plant with dignitaries

Noon to 1 p.m. Guided hike along the Collingwood Trails Network

FREE tree seedling to take home to the first 200 people

If  anyone would like to plant a tree seedling please  sign up to do so by 11:30 a.m. at the registration table.
