- The general condition of the furnace.If an oil furnace, the location of the tank, whether in the house or underground outside.
- The approximate age and condition of windows.
- Evidence of structural problems with the home, such as significant cracks in the foundation.
- Evidence of moisture or mold in the basement.
- Signs of the presence of termites or other pests.
- Presence of knob and tube wiring.
- Amount of electrical service, in amps.
- Type of electrical panel, whether breakers or fuses.
- Type of plumbing, whether copper or galvanized steel.
