Canadian NHL Clubs Promote World Diabetes Day
November 14th is World Diabetes Day
The Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs will be doing more than just playing a hockey game on Saturday — they’ll be lending their support to help raise awareness of the seriousness of diabetes.
As part of World Diabetes Day, the clubs are working with the Canadian Diabetes Association to show their support through in-arena awareness campaigns, ticket/suite donations, in-game opportunities and more. Ottawa plays host to the New York Rangers at 2 p.m. while Toronto welcomes in Calgary at 7 p.m.
As part of UN World Diabetes Day 1000′s of monuments, stores, people turn blue! In 2008 1107 monuments and buildings
turned blue.
Wasaga Beach resident is helping to raise money for the Canadian Diabetes Society by running the Reggae Marathon. Today he is hosting a paintball fund raiser at Wasaga Paintball.
