  • The Bruce Trail

Canada’s oldest marked footpath, stretching from the Niagara region to Tobermory. Two member clubs maintain this sections of the Bruce trail in our region. They include the Blue Mountains Club, which maintains the areas from Lavender to Craigleith, which boasts the highest elevation on the Bruce Trail at 540 m at Osler Bluff Lookout. The Beaver Valley Club looks after the trail from Craigleith to Blantyre through Loree Forest and Kolopore.

  • Collingwood And The Blue Mountains Trail Systems

Both Collingwood and The Blue Mountains have many kilometers of walking, hiking, cycling and cross-country ski trails on a variety of surfaces. Both trail systems have great maps included here in our Guide.

  • The Georgian Trail

34 km hiking, cross country skiing and cycling trail stretching from Collingwood’s Harbourview Park to the waterfront in Meaford.

  • Scenic Caves Nature Adventure

Self guided tours through the scenic caves and caverns along one of the highest points of the Niagara Escarpment.

  • Feversham Gorge

A gem of a trail down the road from Kolapore on Grey Road 2 (just after the bridge in Feversham). 1.5km hike, 24.4 meter high waterfall over crystal clear river.

  • Nottawasaga Bluffs

Hike through the canyons of the Keyhole side trail.

  • Loree Forest Loop

A moderate 4.4 km hike accessed from Grey Rd. 2 to Victoria Corners, head East on 21-22 side road for 5.2 km (parking here). Part of the Bruce Trail, takes you to the top of Georgian Peaks Ski club. Beautiful view. Maps available at the Visitor Centre.

  • Pretty River Provincial Park

This hike is part of the Bruce Trail and is approx. 6 km. Leave Collingwood and go west on Mountain Road to 10th line and turn left. Drive to 33-34 side road and turn right. Drive west to Collingwood Nottawasaga Townline. There is a parking lot 500 meters past the Towline on your left. Walk through the shaded forest along side the river and watch for fish.

  • Duncan Crevice Caves Provincial Park

Hike to Pinnacle Rock and enjoy the spectacular view

  • Kolapore Forest

Over 50 km of marked trails attract hikers, cross country skiers and birding enthusiasts. Visitors are advised that a map is essential due to the complexity of the trails system.

  • The Ganaraska Trail

Special mention goes to this famed 500 km trail that begins in Port Hope. The Ganaraska Trail connects the Bruce Trail at Glen Huron. It follows the Ganaraska River, passing through the region’s rolling hills, the Niagara Escarpment and the shores of Georgian Bay.
