Historic Flights Over Wasaga Beach In June

June 22nd and 23rd centennial celebration of the first flight in Canada

The Canadian Forces are planning three flypasts as part of the celebration and the route will include  Alliston, CFB Borden, Angus, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Barrie. The first flight in Canada was in 1909, when the Silver Dart took off from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The flights will include:

  • A refurbished F-86 Sabre called the Hawk One and it will be painted to commemorate the Golden Hawks, the Canadian Air Force’s demonstration team in the late 1950s and 1960s.f-86-sabre
  • A CF-18 Hornet also painted gold.cf-18
  • The Snow Birds flight demonstration.
